Monster Reaches out Providing Help, Hope and the Ability to Rebuild Lives
Over 1.6 million people (1.4% of the U.S. workforce)* were affected by the Gulf Coast hurricanes.  The recovery effort is still underway and Monster continues to be committed to providing hope, help and the ability for survivors to rebuild their lives through meaningful employment opportunities.  Within the devastated region, we are expanding our assistance by reaching out at the community level to help states employ survivors through local job fairs and increase volunteerism.

Gulf Coast Monster Employment Index Thanks to Jesse Harriott, Jeff Quinn, Hugo Sellert and the research team, we were able to provide Mississippi and Louisiana Government Officials with a Special Gulf Coast Monster Employment Index Report.  This critical research established state employment benchmarks enabling a strong rebuilding platform.  Through the report's informative insights on the hurricane's impact, you can see the need for continued support  by Monster and others.  To view the complete analysis, please go to the "Facts" section.

Our Disaster Relief site continues to provide free job postings to our employers across the country. We have nearly 5,000 jobs available with more being added each week.  This service is open to all employers worldwide who want to recruit survivors or provide jobs within the affected communities.  We will be giving away Dell Desktops to survivors who tell us their story starting in February as well...spread the word.

Louisiana
As 2006 begins, Monster is reaching out as Louisiana ramps up its employment recovery plans.  The entire Gulf Coast region is focused on helping survivors cope and supporting them during the rebuilding process.  With Louisiana's devastation in highly populated areas, Monster recently attended planning meetings with members of Governor Kathleen Babineax Blanco’s Office, Louisiana’s Economic Development Council and Recovery Authority as well as supported a Gulf Coast Forum held in Washington, D.C.  In the coming months as communities begin to rebuild, employment expansion plans will be developed further. Monster is joining Louisiana in their job fair and workshop employment efforts as well as providing volunteer support.

Job Fairs
In November, Monster’s Disaster Relief team joined forces with Kelly Services and traveled to Picayune, MS, participating in one of the first on the ground efforts with the Mississippi Governor’s Job Fair Network Through dedicated teamwork jobs were provided to those most in need.
