This guide is one of a series of guides that are the TorrentSpy FAQ (part of the *Spy FAQ family).
Why are you making this request?
Because you're missing something: a password, seeds, a serial number, etc.
Please note that TorrentSpy does NOT provide the content - we just INDEX it. We don't have the solutions to your requests. The site has no way to contact the person who submitted or is (supposedly) seeding the torrent. Do you contact Google for every problem you have with sites in their search results (they're an index too)?
It is against the forum rules to make requests! We don't want the website shut down because we support warez, so we cant help you with requests. However, we can provide the following guide:
Tracker Requests - private trackers etc
You want a password/seed/invitation and you need to go to the tracker - but how do you get there?
- Find the tracker url HERE. Usually it is in the form "http://aaaaa.bbbb.cccc:####/announce/..." - so you just need to go to the "aaaaa.bbbb.cccc" website and see if you can register there.
- If you can't register for the tracker at "aaaaa.bbbb.cccc", then try googling for "bbbb.cccc" - that should find the site associated with the tracker.
Password Requests
You need a password to un-rar the files you've just downloaded.
- Usually there's a txt/nfo file that explains that you need to go to some site and sign up to get the password, but that's often a silly process.
- Often other users have already done that (or cracked the password) and will post the password on TorrentSpy HERE.
- But you need to be sure you're looking at EXACTLY the same torrent you downloaded, as different torrents of the same title will have different passwords.
- We recommend you bookmark/favourites everything you're ABOUT to download, so you can return to that torrent later if you have any problems.
- If the password has not yet been posted on TorrentSpy, the best thing to do is to request the password in the comment section HERE, then wait… patiently.
- un-crack the password yourself (and be sure to post the result in the torrent detail page for others)
- In the worst case, you'll have to go sign up at the tracker per the information provided in the txt/nfo file.
- Why is there a password in the first place? Most often these are torrents from pseudo-private trackers (where the password will only be given to registered users), and the submitter is not the uploader - just be patient, and thank that submitter for indexing the content on TorrentSpy for you to download.
(Re)Seeding Requests
You need seeds for a download.
- You may not need to make a (re)seeding request at all. If your BT Client supports DHT (see here) then just start the torrent up and wait - for maybe half an hour - often the torrent will get going with amazing speeds.
- You can post a comment HERE - maybe the uploader will check there, but perhaps not as they might not even realize their torrent is indexed on TorrentSpy.
- The best place would be to post a request at the tracker site.
Serial Requests
You need a serial for your backup copy, or want to run a game without using your CD.
- See THE RULES: WE DON'T SUPPORT PIRACY!
New Content Requests
You can't find a torrent you're looking for.
- We've heard rumours that some tracker sites accept requests. But that would be illegal wouldn't it?
Invitation Requests
You want an invitation to a private site (usually demonoid).
- You're not cool enough for those sites (yet), and we're NOT going to give you an invitation.
- We're not affiliated with those sites anyhow, and don't have invitations to give you.
- If you're asking about Demonoid, it's not a private tracker - you can download anything you want from there without an invitation.
- Just be patient and the site will eventually open up for new registrations
