You should always read the .nfo file.
The file type may be .nfo, but the contents are rarely registry entries - instead it's just a text file with information on how to install/use the other file(s) you downloaded
You should find it in the folder you extracted your first set of files from or on the CD you've just made and should look something like this:
To OPEN your .nfo file:
In windows, you can open the file by right-clicking, and selecting "Open with... NotePad" (or WordPad).
If have XP and you don't open it in NotePad/WordPad, it will try to open it with the registry editor and therefore not work.
